Surge protectors: What works?
Surge protectors may seem boring, but if you’ve ever lost a valuable piece of office equipment because one failed you (or you failed to use one), you know how important they can be. In “Zap-proof your office,” reviewer Jonathan Blum gets excited about models by ZeroSurge and Belkin. What surge protector do you like best? Any suggestions for readers who can’t afford to spend a lot on one but need to make sure their computer equipment is safe?

This product seems like a ton of money for a surge protector. APC makes surge protectors with LIFETIME equipment protection policies for much less $$$.
Also, APC and most other companies such as Belkin use MOV’s but they are only the secondary line of defense. The first line of defense is to pass any excess voltage to ground. A proven and effective technology. Enough to allow them to offer a lifetime policy vs the 10 year offered by ZeroSurge.
