Also, I think most of the other iron chefs/ show don't like Besh, and so like on Top chef, Hung was the Besh, ( although i think besh to be more of a jerk in comparision), but this time Simon ( unlike Dale and the other girl) executed brilliantly to outweigh Besh's expertise. If anything maybe all this will teach Besh that interpersonal relationship conduct is more important than he realizes, even at the highest level.
