Everyday low carbon dioxide
Small business suppliers should prepare to pay for emissions data required by large retailers like Wal-Mart and Procter & Gamble. That data will determine which are the preferred suppliers, based on their green ranking. Are you enraged that big companies are requiring small suppliers to research their emissions? Do you think suppliers should be penalized for not providing this data?
I definetly believe that they should be penalized. If you want to call it that. It seems to me that by requiring these small companies to provide this information, it will force them to pay attention to the damage they are doing to the environment. We(society) have done far too little in the past 50 years to ensure that the world we leave for the future generations is a healthy one to live in. We all need to take a step back and look at the price our children will pay if nothing is done. I am glad to see that a company with the influence of Walmart is doing something to "force the issue"! It really is a small price to pay now for future sustainability.

I am not near as 'enraged" that stores are cooperating in gathering
information that will be necessary to enforce some limits on the emission of
greenhouse gasses as I am that Fortune is trying to manufacturer news by
inviting readers to become enraged.
