A requiem for Ron Paul

Ron Paul's presidential campaign wound down Friday. Share your thoughts here on his quixotic run.

My mind is made up. Did anyone else notice that John Mc Cain never looked at Obama the entire debate, while Obama frequently looked at Mc Cain while debating. Can't imagine my leader dissing other world leaders, because he has another agenda.

Ron Paul to hold own convention:

The American people will again have an opportunity to learn how our Constitution translates in terms of public policy and issues of our day. Ron Paul is the leader of a movement to restore the Constitution and the Individual Rights in a country which has lost its way. Contrast that with the words of a "flim-flam" man who promises to be all things to everyone, and compromiser who has betrayed his alleged values to political expediency and the American public will be treated to a real Statesman – the kind we need – more than ever.

Sure Ms. Cowley… If you say so..

Anyway, Guess whose name I see next to McCain's as they talk about Oregon's and Kentucky's primary. I'll give you a hint, it's NOT Ron Paul–remember that other guy still running against John "Insane" McCain?

It's Huckabee…? Wait, I could have sworn already hearing something about Huckabee DROPPING OUT TWO MONTHS AGO AND ENDORSING MCCAIN…

way to go CNN..again.. I knew I could trust you..

You should see what is happening in the GOP county conventions. McCain is not getting any willing support yesterday I saw over 90% of the delegates give a Ron Paul supporter stumping for him a standing ovation. The McCain speaker got a three second pop and not one person stood. that was with 100 plus county delegates too. There is a new ground swell of disenfranchised GOP members that are looking at what the needs of the country are given twenty years of bad management. Ron Paul, the other man still in the race is still on every ballot and the state conventions will be the place to watch. I bet that an open revolt will break out soon and the poor state of economy will push the fence sitters away from all the candidate Senators that got us in this mess.

Have a great day!

I applaud you for including the Ron Paul Video ..I hope you watch it 2 or 3
times before responding to my request for You to submit an article on his
Message to Supporters …since your reporter either cannot get her head out of
the sand or is deliberately spinning a web of misinformation… to
point….
"A Requiem for Ron Paul," the Title to the article! Neither Ron Paul
nor his Supporters needs a mass for the dead !!! As Dr Paul states… "We
do still Encourage All Efforts to Gain the Maximum Number of Votes And
Delegates in All the Remaining Primaries, and to Cont- inue the Caucus
Process that's Ongoing in other states by Loyal Volunteers!"
And as for the magazine's fond use of the term "Quixotic", as defined in
Webster's as "foolishly impractical esp. in the pursuit of ideals"….I take
great issue…He states that Our Job is to Plan for the Next Phase of the
Campaign for Liberty! He cites a new book "The Revolution – A Mani- festo"
which you can pre-order on Amazon, a National Rally June 21st in D.C.,
and he introduced two new organizations: The Liberty PAC and The Free
Foundation (for Education). He also announced a Strategy Convention of
Leaders and Organizations Associated with this Evolving Revolution for Truth,
Justice, Freedom and Liberty of the People! I believe these measures and
Ron Paul's plans prove him to be the "most practical" of all the candidates
when it comes to "pursuit of ideals." ……Not Quixotic !!!
I leave you with a "Don Quixote" type vision of what could have been
if Congressmen Paul and Kucinich had been successful in passing their
Industrial Hemp Bill of 2007….Can you See American Farmers growing Hemp for
food, fuel, fiber, plastics, paper, paint, oil etc ? Can you see a huge
industry of drought resistant, clean, green energy ? Can you Imagine
Americans producing their Own Hemp instead of importing from China and Canada? How much economic stimulus would "American Hemp" produce compared to a "drop in the bucket" tax cut?

Since you quoted "winding down," you can't blame your lie on a
misunderstanding. You know very well that Ron Paul didn't drop out. But sleazy
journalists, like yourselves, have been trying to shape this election from day
one. I accept the fact that Ron Paul is not going to win, but I will never
accept as fact anything anyone from CNN ever has to say again since you've
proven what a bunch of unrepentant , scum of the Earth, liars you are.

Ron Paul has not withdrawn, the campaign continues and so does the
"Revolution".

There are some who might "hope" it were over. But for anyone who is interested
in learning more about Ron Paul's ideals to return this country to it's
constitutional premise and who values their individual liberty, simply seek
out a Ron Paul Meetup group near you. Google then enter your zip code. Our
primary is over, and people are still asking for Ron Paul signs to erect in
their yards.

Oh no, this Ron Paul Revolution is far from over, we're just getting started!

I am so sick of a press in this country that operates on lies and half truths. So are all the other educated citizens that averaged $102 each to raise 28 million in all. Can you do the math? FYI – Nothing in Dr.Paul's video said he was dropping out of the race; it's about new tactics.

I personally would not at this point believe anything I heard or read from CNN even it I saw it myself.

What are you, deaf, dumb, or just stupid?

Dr. Paul did not say he was quitting or that "his" campaign was winding down. He said *the* campaing was winding down, and with few states left that is entirely true. You need to listen to what was actually said instead of what you wanted to hear!

He also called on supporters to keep rolling up delegates and keep on trucking, becasue he was as well. That sure isn't quitting!

The announcement was for two purposes: one, the March on DC update, and two, the beginnings of the next phase of the R3VOLution, which will continue beyond St. Paul, beyond the landslide defeat of McCain, and beyond the death throes
of the neoconliberals.

Maybe you ought to have listened properly and objectively. Instead you show blatant bias in terms like "quixotic figure" and "doomed pursuit of the White House", which just shows that Fortune is anti-freedom.

Ron clearly stated that efforts will continue to the GOP convention in September. The march planned on Washington was also given a definite date.
This is poor journalism, and amounts to dis-information. Why are you "news" people so afraid of Ron Paul? And whats this "libertarian entrepreneur" label about? A quick call to Ron Paul headquarters will confirm that he has not left the race nor is planning to. The video speaks to the contrary- the delegate process, and the remaining elections. Please double-check your facts. Talk to either campaign manager or assistant campaign manager and you will have checked your facts. I love CNN, so I am therefore dissapointed you did not take extra care to speak to the campaign directly.

CNN has gone to the crapper and is more of a tabloid magazine than a legitimate source for news. Ron Paul was barely covered here and even censored or "left out" of poll results. You cover Britney more than our candidates and Larry King has turned into a sensationalized entertainment show rather than a "hard hitting" interview show. You also killed Business 2.0 magazine and yet you keep Money?? What a piece of dung that magazine is, but I digress. Point being your management does what it is told rather than what should be. Ron Paul represents the mainly silent intellectual america than wants change, truth and a rebirth of our country. They are not yes people and they probably don't work for your company. Good luck with those shit for brains candidates you are promoting. Ron Paul 2112!

I have to say CNN you never cease to amaze me with the ignorant employees you hire, whether it is by intention or accident that is debatable. There is a reason you have increasingly become known as the "Communist "News" Network". Throughout this entire campaign I have watch the "mainstream media" manipulate and control the availability of information, it is truly disgusting to know that their are "people" that have no qualms about doing this as a job. Your network like the rest of the mainstream media do not report the news, you spin and manipulate the transfer of information, purely unethical. Ron Paul listens to those who believe in his message, we will not stop and he will not stop, this "campaign" is not over until our country is controlled by the people once again. The Revolution WILL BE TELEVISED!

Dr. Paul is continuing his candidacy and I will be writing in Ron Paul's name on the November ballot if he is not the GOP nominee. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and I won't miss it.

What a shame that the MSM didn't assign reporters to follow Ron Paul and his supporters, many who are first-time participants in the election process. One of the most newsworthy and stimulating coverage opportunities was blown, choosing instead to shun or marginalize Dr. Paul, often with pejorative and ridicule. Objective and more-even coverage would have been beneficial for all, and certainly more interesting, this election. For those reporters who did interview Dr. Paul with open receptivity I am grateful. For the most part the coverage was poor in quantity and quality. Result: lost opportunities across the board — for MSM, for the people, and for the election process as a whole. It proves rather embarrassing for MSM because people are more aware than ever that, rather than reporting news, MSM attempts to shape opinion. Largely we have a foolish looking media.

The GOP's machinations are an embarrassment as well, for instance in regard to changed regulations and deadlines and voting roll "errors" and election miscounts such as in NH. Then there is Diebold! What a disaster we, the once exemplary country of democratic elections, now reveal to the world. Our elections can be hoodwinked, manipulated, bought, and stolen.

The Dow is down again today, -135 and crude oil up over 107

What a farce the mainstream media is becoming. Ron Paul has received absolutely no coverage from your site amongst (amongst many others) during the duration of his campaign, but now suddenly the fact that he "dropped out" is deemed newsworthy. Conveniently ignored is the fact that he broke fundraising records left and right without the help of lobbyists and corporations. For your information, he is still in the race and going strong. What a joke

For the 1st time in American politics, we heard a voice that actually talked about the illegal, un-constitutional, PRIVATELY owned Federal Reserve and how they print money out of thin air. We heard a voice that talked about the North American Union and the NAFTA super highway. This same voice even talked about how we are ILLEGALLY in Iraq and how we occupy 130 countries across the globe. This voice was Ron Paul. The saying "this is too good to be true" or "this is just contolled oposition" was the first reaction. Most of us never heard of Dr. Paul. In our amazement, we researched this voice. We researched his voting record in Congress and couldnt believe our eyes. We finally found the ONLY voice that actually fights for the people. It took some time for us to get over the shock. We already knew the other candidates were dirty and so after the shock, we tried to find all the dirt on Dr. Paul because you cant be a politician without some dirt. We searched for months and months and found NOTHING…zip, zilch, zero, nada, no dirt AT ALL. We found our candidate. So, in our amazement, we started learning about the election process and started watching the debates for the first time. We said to ourselves "America is gonna love this man". We quickly learned that mainstream media (MSM) is a controlled propaganda machine that brainwashes and conditions the masses to accept and believe thier pre-determined agenda. We learned that WE the people had to fight for this man and help deliver his messege. We flooded the blogs, forums, emails, and created record numbers of Meetup groups to deliver this messege of truth to the people. We voted on all the online polls and cell phone votes and won every single poll. We proved to the world that "paulites" are the only Americans that actually give a crap about what our county has become. We already knew the MSM wasnt gonna help but then they did the unthinkable…they said that he won those polls because of a couple of "basement dwelling hackers that live with thier parents" hacked all those polls…the result?? November the 5th…we raised $4 million in 24 hours. If "basement dwelling hackers that live with their parents" did that, then why are they in the basement and why are they still living with their parents? We proved again that we are the majority. With the support solidified, we spread the message further, talking to freinds, family and complete strangers, telling them to look into Paul. The MSM continued debates and everyone that we told to pay attention to Paul and watch the debates. Everyone came back with "your right about one thing, why dont they let Paul talk? Why do I see every candidate interviewed except Paul?" and we respond with "exactly, you like how they brainwash people?" Support grew and a month later, on Dec. 16 we raised $6 million in 1 day, shattering all fundraising records and it gets a 30 second soundbyte from MSM. We learn that Ron Paul gets more military donations than all other candidates COMBINED.

Ron Paul has shattered every record in political history yet you want us to believe that he only got 5% of the vote? We know its a joke, especially when Dr. Paul just got voted back into his district as a Congessman by a landslide yet got less votes for President than he did for his district?

70% of Americans oppose war…that is a majority and the definition of Demaocracy (enen though we are supposed to be a Republic) . McCain, Clinton, Obama support war!! How is it possible that America is voting for these people that support war when 70% oppose it? We all know now that it is NOT possible. They say that this kind of talk is just a "consiracy theory" or "crazy people talk" or the MSM says "these people should be sent to secret prison camps and tortured" which only solidifies the fact that MSM is a joke. Now you are reporting that Ron Paul is dropping out, which is another lie. You think that because the enthusiasm has deminished, that the Ron Paul Revolution is dead. You think that you proved your point that Ron Paul was insignificant. You think that just because you report this that people will accept it…you are wrong!!! The only thig that you, the MSM, proved, was that we are slaves and you flaunted it in our faces this year. You proved that the election is a controlled farse. I used to get really pissed off over this bias that the MSN spews, but now, I'm thankful, because the MSM has woken up more people than then "paulites" could have ever dreamed.

Dr. Paul winding down his campaign doesnt matter now because thousands of people are now running for polital offices with his messege and winning. We WILL take our county back. What started out as a couple of "basement dwelling hackers that live with thier parents" has now turned into average Americans running for office and winning. We have learned about how the Globalists have patience, now we have patience. We used to want change right now, but adapted. We know it cant happen instantly or in our lifetime. We are now raising our children with this knowledge. It is spreading exponentionally. Ron Paul may be considered insignificant now but in 10 years he will be revered as "the man that started it all". This is only the beginning.

Hey CNN…you familiar with the term "yellow" journalism? Do you think what you're doing is any better by providing biased coverage of a viable candidate for the highest ranking office in the United States?

You should be ashamed of yourselves, but then, look who we're talking about. It is a travesty of justice that any form of media in our country is owned or managed by special interest groups, in this case big business. The folly is obvious…McDonald's is not going spend a dime of it's profits marketing Wendy's or Carl's Jr. And certainly, CNN doesn't have anything to gain (and almost certainly profits to lose) by fairly reporting on Ron Paul's potential contribution as President. Aided by media marginalism, even his "peers" in the debates chided and disrespected him in laughing him off.

One thing that cannot be so easily scoffed at is the broken backs and spirits of the hard-working American people who've lost their jobs, their homes and their will to participate in a government that has failed to protect them against the wolves that manage big business. Their attempts at explaining away their pensions, profits and bonus packages and timely selling off of their company stocks just prior to hearing the last vertebre of the middle class break in the Congressional investigation on the mortgage debacle is shameful indeed. Do Countrywide, Citibank, Bank of America and Meryll Lynch's chief executives and board members think we are oblivous to their strategies at securing profit? Hardly, gentlemen. And Kudos go out to those representatives in Congress who aptly point out that their constituents, who are without their homes, jobs and hope for financial security, are "…mad as hell, and they're not gonna take it anymore!"

Wake up chief execs and board room relics! American's are waking up in mass and joining a Rloveution!!! We know you could care less about who we are, or that we want liberties, or meaningful participation in our government. We know that you'll stoop to anything (9/11) to divert our attention and manipulate our minds. After all, as Rockefeller, Jr. points out, Americans NEED to be led and he and his "group of influence" were bred for that job. Pleeeese.

We've been watching, Rockefeller-types…we've been watching Aaron Russo's "America: Freedom to Fascism," and reading…Ron Paul's "Foreign Policy of Freedom" and talking…as precinct leaders to OUR constituencies, our neighbors. The grassroots movement to preserve American freedoms and ideals is alive and well. We will continue to promote Ron Paul's fight against tyranny and oppressive foreign policies whether or not he chooses to "wind down" his current campaign. We will continue to fight, as our forefather's did, for our national soverignty and our right to be the strongest nation in spirit and self-determination. As Ron Paul points out, there will be other elections and the word will get around. You will not win CNN…you will not win FOX news…you will not win MSNBC…not for all the profit-to-be-made in the world will you break the American spirit…you may break our backs, but you'll NEVER break our spirits! GO RON PAUL…if not this year,…RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT 2012, 2016…or whenever Americans are finally fed up enough!

Lets be real people. It's over. Not officially just yet, but the real announcement whether it be after the convention or soon is coming. I was a Ron Paul supporter. Not for his monetary policy, though I agree a concern for this country to stop spending trillions of dollars we don't have is scary. Most importantly it's because he holds civil liberties (minus his backward stance on gay issues and immigration) and a foreign policy that doesn't get us into terrible wars and especially not for a "war on terror." Yesterday, George Bush vetoed a bill that explicitly deemed waterboarding (aka TORTURE) illegal. Ron Paul wouldn't allow that. That's for sure. He sees through the lies. Obama probably does but he doesn't want to seem like a wuss. He needs to take the terrorists seriously so the Mainstream doesn't attack him too visciously. And sadly a Obama presidency is the best we can do. Remember folks, who you vote into the Senate and Congress is equally important, if not more important that who the next president is.

It's not over yet. "Requiem" is premature in any case. Ron Paul won his incumbent seat in Congress with 70% of his district's vote.

Whether or not Dr. Paul has a chance at the presidency, he will still be the sole, lonely but sensible voice in Congress for ending empire and the disastrous policies of the Federal reserve.

Americans don't know it yet -because media has been biased against him – but by the end of the economic collapse we are sprialing into with the help of the Fed, we may ALL become Paulites very soon. Dr. Paul's ideals are still very much alive, and his legacy will be the one that eventually brings Americans back to their senses.

I'm realizing with every passing day Ron Paul is a threat like no other in history. A lie, is a lie, is a lie and no matter how stupid CNN thinks American's are they publish a lie and even give the source of their information as though the viewers will not go and watch the video themselves and see they lied. Arrogant is the news organization who blatantly lies because after all the people will not admit the emperor has no clothes on; they wouldn't dare.

Dig the grave one teaspoon at a time, it's actually getting pretty funny.

You now have a very large group of very unhappy Americans who are sick and tired of the war you have waged on our free elections. But ahhh you exaggerate your strength. For if you are able to see it through this will be one the American citizens win.

And in the end media will suffer many, many casualties. Not in the form of lives but in the form of jobs, and companies and credibility.

We won't forget! Viva la Revolution!

WHY DO YOU THE MEDIA CONTROLED BY A CERTAIN AUSTRALIAN AND OTHERS LIKE HIM KEEP PRINTING FALSE NEWS ! !

It's NOT over yet we will all be at the convention ! !

by EdwardK

Thanks to reader Colette for sharing this e-mail with the Daily Dose:

I just attended my county Republican convention this weekend and I have to say, I was very pleased by what I saw there.

First off, the lawn outside the convention center was carpeted by campaign signs from all of the candidates. I am pleased to say that Ron Paul signs dominated the landscape! I would say that for every sign a candidate had up, we had at least three. Kudos to Carl Bruining for equipping the supporters in this region to get the word out!

As I went into the convention (I am a county and congressional delegate) to be seated, I saw a lot of local politicians had booths. What I did not see was McCain very well represented. Ron Paul’s booth was big and informative (there was always a group standing there). Huckabee also had a booth, but it was not as well attended.

The first person who got up to speak was Marilyn Musgrave, Congresswoman from the 4th Congressional District in Colorado. She really tried to sell everyone there on the idea of John McCain as the nominee. Funny thing is, it did not look like her heart was in it. She was merely towing the party line. People in the audience were actually standing up and denouncing her words (not too rudely, but vocal none the less). Other than Musgrave, there was only one person who got up and spoke for McCain and I think he was the last minute/only choice of speaker for McCain.

This man got up and actually used words and phrases like “Constitution,” and “return to conservative values,” when referring to McCain. He said he was upset that he was the only one who wanted to get up and speak for McCain. Poor, deluded man…

What really lifted my hopes was when Carl Bruining got up and spoke for Dr. Paul. Every time he spoke of Dr. Paul’s platform, the room erupted in applause.

Here is why my hopes are up…

As I sat there, I realized that most of the delegates in that room were Ron Paul supporters.

We had pulled off what nobody yet realizes…we had the majority of delegates!

I cannot wait for State and Congressional…and the National convention! If this is an indicator, we are in the calm before the storm. When the convention in Minneapolis happens, the world will be stunned. Why? Because we have quietly infiltrated the party and we are taking it over.

Hang in there folks…the battle seems to have been lost, but the war is far from over. While they think we are in defeat, we are marshaling our forces for the great battle to be fought in Minnesota. The fight that will take back our party and ultimately, our nation.

I am pretty active in this campaign here in Central PA. I spent 3-1/2 hours last thursday night on a conference call developing strategies for continuing the campaign here in PA a well as several of the other remaining primary states. I can tell you firsthand that Ron Paul is not dropping out.

When Paul is talking about the "presidential campaign will soon wind down", he is not referring to just his campaign, but the whole process in general. There are only nine primaries left and this is what he talking about.

As for the comment, "Though victory in the conventional political sense is not available in the presidential race, many victories have been achieved…" this is referring to the overall strategy of having a brokered convention. What he is talking about is the fact that again, there are only nine states left with just over 400 delegates. Even if Paul won all these states, he could not "conventionally" win the nomination. The plan has always been to get Ron Paul delegates elected, even if they are bound to another candidate and then win a brokered convention. This in an unconventional approach in our modern politics, but it has happened before and is not a new strategy.

I encourage all of you to take a quick look at this website:

http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P08/R.phtml

The people that put this together have done a lot research into the various rules for the different states and have put together the most complete and accurate assessment that I can find of the true delegate counts.

Do not listen to the mainstream media. They lie. They lie to us all the time to further their own agendas and the articles and news you see today is just further proof of that lie. The MSM will spin this as Paul finally conceding and nothing could further from the truth. Paul has said that he is committed to seeing the campaign threw to the end and I will believe anything that man says over the media or other "mainstream" talking heads.

As a final bit of evidence in Paul's commitment to the campaign, Tuesday we received a 20 ton (yes, TON) shipment of campaign materials directly from the campaign itself. Plus we have more coming in from across the country where the primaries have already been determined. We are not giving up. There is much more to come.

Time will tell the story of this election. As the election continues to unfold we, the voters, who have saved the medias comments on our hard drives, will be able to compare for ourselves how relevent or accurate the pundits were. Congressen Paul can not be repaced at this time. As you stated DR. No, HR951 414-1, is alone on many issues. In his integrety and the honoring of his oath of office to uphold and defend the constitution as well as taxpayers money there appears to be no equal or at least no one willing to stand on principle. Legislation introduced by Dr. No receives little or no support as well from congress. Read the legislation and decide for yourself if he deserves such treatment. Compare his congressional website to that of other canidates see for yourself what he stands for. The internet is a wonderful tool, use it now before it gores away as well. Decide for yourself just how crazy or loonie this gentlemen is. The truth on all the canidates is out there just keep looking.

I think the important question now is what follows the Ron Paul candidacy? We can't just let this momentum completely go away. I don't believe it will. I believe that there are a significant number of people who are just beaten down by decades of big government statism–but who will harken to the Ron Paul libertarian message of liberty if we just keep it out there. I wasn't totally certain I was a libertarian until I got a good dose of "Dr. No" but I'm a true believer now! The Revolution lives on!

As his supporters have said, Paul is not out. The campaign has just 'wound down'. He's almost out of money (he may have $5 million left), while McCain isn't allowed to spend any more; so no more active campaign.
I'm glad his people are keeping up the fight; there's much more to fight for than just the nominee. I'd love to see Paul's people rewrite the platform, eg; it would be great to send McCain out to campaign on a platform of 'bring all the troops home.' (Might even be the only thing that can get him elected.)

Ron Paul has not "quit". If you listen to, or read his own words, you would understand. Dr. Paul has never lied to the voters.
His video is a message of hope for America, and thanks to his supporters, and a statement of the reality he is facing. He asks us to continue- as he will. Winning at all costs is not his style,

He is NOT out of the race. If McCain self destructs like many believe he may, then Ron Paul has a chance. I am voting for him no matter what because its the only way my children can have the American Dream and a healthy future. If the MSM had given him FAIR press from the beginning, then he would have had a chance and our economy would have recovered. Without him, we are in for a ROUGH RIDE. I thank God that my house is paid for, no CC's or loans and I have money in the bank because we are in for some very rough times. Many are predicting that it will be worse than the great depression. Ron Paul is the only candidate to see it, or at least have the balls to say it.
I'm in PA so I still get to vote for RP and I will.
Maybe with luck he will run as a third party, we can only hope! I have door hangers to put out here in PA, I'm not done yet! :-)

Ron Paul is still in the race and has said that his supporters should try to get every delegate possible in the remaining primaries. Why would Ron Paul drop out now? He knows as well as anyone that John McCain is as likely to succumb to his cancer before the RNC as he is to live to see it (maybe more so) and if that should happen, it would leave us with an unopposed Democratic candidate in November. Ron Paul should not drop out. He is the only candidate who's supporters kept him in the race without his ever applying for federal campaign funds, or applying for loans from anyone.

I am hoping that former Congressman Bob Barr, from CNN headquarters' own back yard, will run as the candidate of the Libertarian Party with the endorsement of Ron Paul.

It is amazing, however, that the media so gleefully jumps on this story and misrepresents Ron Paul's "state of the campaign" video. Never did he say "I am withdrawing from the presidential race." On the contrary, he stated that he will continue to try to get as many delegates as possible and will campaign wherever there is support for him.

Ron Paul's original motivation for running was to educate the public. Then his campaign took off and the goal of winning (at admittedly long odds) was added in to the equation, as was the notion of using the Ron Paul revolution to take over the Republican party from the neocon welfare/warfare statists.

Though he acknowledged the obvious — that his campaign was mathematically out of contention for the presidency — the other goals continue to gain momentum. Precinct leaders are still being added every day. Training continues, so that these people know how to operate within the party. Ron Paul's predictions about our economic situation are unfolding before our eyes. His "kooky" theories and predictions have proven correct for all to see. So the education continues, as well.

The precinct leader program and all of the Precinct Committee Officers are identifying like-minded people. These people, combined with the members of the hundreds of Ron Paul MeetUp groups are not beholden to any political party. They can support a Libertarian, an independent or whomever is the best candidate advocating liberty at any given time.

It's not about Ron Paul. It never has been. We love the guy, but he's the first to say that this is about liberty.

The welfare/warfare statists seem to think they have dodged a bullet, but it was just the warning shot across their bow. The real revolution has barely even started.

The federal government is well on its way to going broke. This will happen in our lifetimes if the Ron Paul platform is not adopted. Don't take my word for it, ask the head of the GAO. It's just sad that there is so much denial about our nation's situation that, as a result, we are going to end up experiencing much more pain in the long run than would have been the case if we had listened to Ron Paul and started solving our problems now.

The insults thrown Ron Paul's way do not phase him in the least because he knows beyond any doubt that history will vindicate him and his views. Do the math. The empire is unsustainable.

When this began a year ago there were 11 Republican candidates for the Presidential nomination.

As each of the 9 who are no longer in the race LEFT THE RACE they each made a concession speech, no?

Ron Paul has chosen NOT TO make such a concession speech, instead, being the only true conservative, he has wisely decided to cut some paid staff and rely more heavily on the grassroots support which has already accomplished so much.

The old media has entirely missed the point regarding Paul's campaign. It was never about LEFT, RIGHT, Republican, Democrat. From the moment people started listening to what this good and honest man has been saying for 30 years, support grew SPONTANEOUSLY for the message of hope for liberty, peace, and prosperity which Paul gave inspirational voice to.

If it is true that he "didn't stand a chance," as has been repeated ad nauseum, then that by itself speaks volumes to how far down The Road to Serfdom this country has traveled, so FAR that we are unable to recognize the principles which lay the foundation of freedom in this land, or perhaps worse, having recognized these self-evident truths, we shunned them in favor of more of the same.

May God help us all if the light of liberty is allowed to flicker and fade in what has long been a place of hope for the world.

You could also include him in your promotional graphics. He garnered more votes that Guiliani, yet you included HIM in the graphics.

It's not due to a lack of interest that Ron Paul isn't getting a fair shake, it's the media types like yourself that did not include him in the graphics. So spare me the garbage that Media does not make or break candidates.

Go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPxU8a9V_5M (10 minutes, fantastic RP clip compilation)

At about 1 minute in there’s a debate clip from the October 9th, 2007 Republican debate (yes, five months ago) RP starts saying, “we’re in a recession… for a lot of people. Michigan knows about it. Poor people know about it, the middle class knows about it. Wall street doesn’t know about it, Washington D.C. doesn’t know about it … ” and he goes on to talk about inflation and overspending as the cause.

That part of the video is extra fantastic because it’s got economic tickers on the top. Look at the info in the video from five months ago (Oct 9th, 07) compared to now (March 7th, 08).

Oil was $80/barrel, now it’s $105 (up 31%)

Gasoline futures were $2.02/gal, now they are $2.69 (up 33%)

Gold was $743/oz, now it’s $972/oz (up 31%)

Silver was $13.60/oz, now it’s $20.14/oz (up 48%)

The Dow had a record high close of 14,165, now it’s 11,894 (down 16%)

S&P 500 had a record high close of 1565, now it’s 1293 (down 17%)

NASDAQ was 2804, now it’s 2212 (down 21%, which is a technical bear market for NASDAQ)

$1 was worth 117.2 Yen, now it’s 102.7 Yen (down 12%)

$1 was worth 0.71 Euros (displayed as $1.41 dollars per Euro), now a buck is 0.65 Euros (down 8.5%)

The dollar stayed around 0.5 British Pounds, but that just means the pound is sinking, too

The man is an economic prophet, yet he’s ignored. And he doesn’t use mystic powers to make these predictions. As he says in the video, “it’s a natural predictable consequence that some people will benefit [military-industrial-congressional complex insiders] and some will suffer [the rest of us chumps trying to save our dollars for old age].” He just knows history and Austrian Economics, which makes him seem like he has powers to predict the future compared to the short-sighted political hacks we usually see running.

Feel free to repost the link to the video along with the stats from this comment.

Our Ron Paul Meetup group continues to grow, even as the campaign starts folding its tent. I'll be surprised if we aren't still organized in 2010, when we will be sure to nominate legislators who share our views.

This is one of the saddest days in American history and in American politics. The people who never got a chance to know Dr.Paul and his policies are the ones I feel worse for because they didn't even get to understand the meaning of freedom and how the country would be if we just followed the Constitution instead of doing whatever the elite and corporate lobbyists think would be best.Take a look around at the country; we are in turmoil because of these policies, and with this next election not a damn thing will change;no matter how many of the masses believe another snake oil salesmans slogan.I would like to blame the media which I believe was a major part of people not knowing of Dr.Paul or the fact that he was actually running, but more so I blame the American people for being so dumbed down they wouldn't know a real, honest, sincere person fighting for their rights guaranteed by the Constitution if he came up and slapped them.We who support him will continue with The Revolution no matter the media blackout. Our voices will be heard whether at the local, state, or national level.Dr.Paul is correct when he said "Elections are short term events while a Revolution lasts a lifetime."We can hope the American people wake up and realise they are being hoodwinked by the current group of persons running our country. We can only hope.Thank you Dr.Paul you have been an inspiration on many a different generation.
