Study: Men twice as likely to start a business

Men started twice as many new businesses last year as women. Think it's a statistical blimp, or a new trend?

I think men are just more ambitious then women are. (just my opinion)

There is another consideration. As more and more women have entered the workforce over the past three decades and have proven themselves as equal – and often superior – to their male counterparts, there is the very real likelihood that they are taking a greater percentage of middle and upper management positions. In turn, men are opting out and starting their own businesses (typically one-person consultancies). As Danica Patrick has proven, women can compete and can win. Let's at least consider giving some credit where credit is due.

Great comment.

Where you wrote "Female rates of entrepreneurship are substantially lower than the male level.

I think this would partially be to do with alot of Men have a lot of testosterone and maybe they think they have something to prove in the eyes of society.

This is not to say women can not or do not succeed, quite the opposite.

I think if you want something enough in life you will make a way.
