What I found very useful was Polynapping. The website can be found here: http://polynap.grelly.com/?page_id=7

Basically, you can get a variety of mp3s which range in length from a few minutes to 26 minutes. The sound track starts with white noise and when the time has elapsed, the track cuts out and then gradually starts to insert random noises to help bring you out of sleep lightly. I used this often on the train to and from work in Chicago and it worked beautifully from recovering from a long night out or escape post-work fatigue so I could enjoy the rest of my day.

My work schedule just changed from 10am to 630pm to 6am to 230pm. I am constantly tired all day long even though I get 6 to 8 hours of sleep. When I worked the 10 to 6 shift I was never tired, always in a good mood and went out during the week with friends. Now I'm home all evening and in bed by 10 and nights out with friends have to wait until the weekend. It takes me an hour to get going in the morning before I can even think about what I need to do during my work day. BRING BACK MY FLEX TIME!!

I'm so busy with work and home I can't possibly get enough sleep. There are some days that my co-workers and I say "I would pay $20 for a nap right now" I think coorporations should really look into a serivice like this. I'm on a coorporate campus with a hair/nail salon, spa, dry cleaner, etc. I think everyone would really respond to a sleep station. Unfortunetly I work at a top financial firm so it looks like spending money on employees is out of the question for a while.

I have had sleep apnea for nearly five years and had been using CPAP off and on. It matters greatly to get a machine, humidification and mask that fit (try all you need) in order to get the benefits of the therapy. I was nodding off at my desk during the day (and hearing about it from coworkers who thought I was just sleeping on the job and not in the throes of a real health issue). That has changed radically with a different mask, machine and finally, sleeping through the night. Run to your nearest sleep clinic/lab and get checked. My last exam said I had 63 "abnormal respiratory events" over a two hour period - one every couple of minutes. No wonder I had been so tired...but it can take weeks of the CPAP therapy to help you make up for YEARS of sleep deprivation, so be patient and consistent in using your therapy. Good luck!

Fact is Experts don't agree with needing 8 hours of sleep. It's going to depend on the person.

I was under the impression from recent sleep vs health studies that 6.5 hours was a better number of hours to sleep. Things like depression and weight gain were associated with sleeping too much. Is this just a last minute rehash of conventional thinking? Or did the writer actually look at recent studies?

I have also tried Ambien and the side effects are not worth it.
Tried a natural sleeping pill with Helicidum called Sleep Prescription.
No more side effects just sleep.

I was on benzo's for about 8 years all the while not knowing the reality of what i was doing to myself. I am two years off a cold Turkey and still in withdrawals (most symptoms are gone or about gone). It has been hell. Most people do not go through what i have but, for those who dont know what is happening to them pleas please go to www.benzo.org.uk to find out. I saved my life I am sure of it.
Hotel benzo - find your way out --their is hope.
