Don't rely on Google for Web sales
ScenicRentals.com owner Mike Braswell turned to CNNMoney.com's Website Remedies for help overhauling his travel site. What do you recommend?
I like the site a lot. I do agree however there are some changes which need to be made in order to get the pages higher in the search engines.
Mike needs sales. Not an dump of the latest technology shoved down his already high workload
The formula is really simple.
When a prospect comes to the site, offer something of immense value in return for a name and e-mail
Then build a relationship with a series of e-mail and convert the client
While i agree with some of the suggestions, it is easy to get sucked into unproductive activities especially applying big business techniques to small business

I liked the site.
But one recommendation is to take away some of the google ads that are on the properties page. Maybe tone them down a bit. Because right now after going to your site the ads keep taking me away from the site.
Since you seem to have a good business model with charging properties to list on the site, might as well just try to focus on that and make the site more user friendly. Or charge the properties on each click or something like that.
Good luck and good website!

It looks like the CNN advice was taken to heart by ScenicRentals. The website appears to be completely redesigned and looks great! Seems that most of the items were addressed….and more. Great job
