Make purchases without cash
In a tough economy, more business owners are conserving cash by bartering for the stuff they need. Would you recommend trading services?

Unimpressed with bartering. Problems with defining *exactly* what you're getting/giving. Tax liability (cash only for the IRS). Barter company overhead (payable in cash please). Possible sales tax problems (also payable in cash please).
By the time you're done, it is easier and cheaper just to pay money for what you need. If barter worked so well, there wouldn't be money. Money really does work better most of the time, and cash is still king.

Thank you for the helpful article. I've been bartering through friends or business associates before bartering became fashonable. Online bartering become helpful tools to find services goods which can save your cost of running business. I have a small design business, recently found a site where I can get connected to other small business or service providers. I strongly recommend http://www.barterquest.com to other businesses. Thank you! N
